Graduate Academy of Social Sciences use RFID system
Graduate Academy of Social Sciences (GASS) is a public educational institution in the national education system of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, a unit of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences that has the function of training and a isuing master and doctorate’s degrees, doctorate in social sciences in accordance with law; unified unifying management activities of postgraduate education and training provided by institutions under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences; combine incoperating social sciences scientific research in trainingtraining with scientific research in the social sciences; and providing consultation advice on training andhigh-quality human resource training and development.
In order to facilitate and ensure the research and teaching needs of students and staff of the academy, the Library of the Academy must be a place to be focused on development. Evidence shows that only nearly 5 years of operation, the Library has nearly 20,000 newspapers and magazines; more than 10,000 units of documents for postgraduate research and teaching and especially dissertation, doctoral dissertation in Social Sciences subjects that the Academy has been currently training. It is a rich database of resources that is not available to any library or training institution; With the number of thousands of theses and thesis available, every year at the Center, there are about 2,000 additional essays and dissertations of students and graduate students. In addition to the above sources of information and databases, the Center has inherited a rich source of information shared from specialized libraries with a long tradition of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, Library of other training facilities.
In order to continue to improve the quality of service, at the same time to modernize the facilities, in january 2018 the Library has selected the RFID system – Nedap provided by IDT to put it into service. It is not only bring convenience to patrons but also improve the quality of service, reduce the amount of professional work that happens daily by staffs. The list of devices includes:
