IDT participated in the professional training of Library – Dublin core cataloging for digital material
Within the framework of the cooperation program with the École normale supérieure – ENS Paris, the Information and Library Center of Hanoi National University of Education welcomed 3 librarians who are experts in different fields of Library of ENS Paris visited and worked from 5-16 November 2018. The professional training course officially opened at 9:30 on November 5, 2018.
The training program has the participation of guests from the Vietnam Library Association, the association of the university libraries in the North, and other university libraries. The expert came from the Library of ENS Paris: Ms. Pascal Arauz-Aubrun, Head of Cataloging Department of Language Library and Humanities sciences, Ms. Charlotte Dessaitn, Mr. Stéphane Decker.
On the side of Hanoi National University of Education, there were Mr. Nguyen Van Trao – Vice Rector; Representatives of related departments: Administration – Foreign Affairs, the Executive Committee of HoChiMinh Communist Youth Union , Quality Assurance Center and all officers of Library Information Center.
The program focuses on the following issues: Exchange of experiences in the process of document processing on Dewey Classification. Cataloging according to RAMEAU method; Discussing the development of the library profession in modern society; Training / guiding users on modern resources; Introducing catalogs according to RDA (resource description and access) standards; Introducing the format of FRBR, The transition from RDA to FRBR; Training on electronic libraries and digital document collections.
The program has the participation of 37 libraries of universities and institutes with a total of over 100 people who are leaders, managers, and library information industry colleagues.
In the spirit of exchange and learning, IDT came to the training session of “Cataloging Dublin core for digital materials” wishing to gain more experience from domestic and foreign experts, as well as an opportunity to introduce document digitalization solution – Smart scanner CZUR ET16. During the program, the ET16 Plus device has attracted a lot of attention from the participants.
