Seminor “Development of electronic libraries in Vietnam to meet the requirements of the Industrial Revolution 4.0”
In the morning of November 9, in Hanoi, the Department of Library (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) held a seminar “Development of electronic libraries in Vietnam to meet the requirements of the Industrial Revolution 4.0”, with the participation of experts, scientists, managers in the field of information and library.
It can be seen, recently, in life and on the mass media, that the 4.0 revolution has become a term, a frequently mentioned issue. We need to identify the opportunities, challenges and requirements that 4.0 revolution poses with the activities of our fields and industries as well as for the locality and the whole society.
With the attention of the Party and the State, Vietnamese libraries have developed in both quantity and quality. The application of scientific and technological achievements has changed the way in the library. Vietnamese libraries have been shifting from a traditional library model to a modern digital library, e-library. This change brings many benefits to users and libraries. The e-library has created an opportunity to access information resources, not limited to space and time.

At the Seminor, participants focused on discussing a number of issues: Identifying the impacts, opportunities and challenges of the 4.0 Industrial Revolution for library and electronic library activities; assess the status of electronic library in Vietnam; copyright issues in electronic libraries; the coordination and interaction between libraries, publishers, technology solution providers for libraries to form an electronic library with friendly and convenient utilities for users; experience and advanced electronic library model; at the same time proposing the contents that need to be regulated on the electronic library in the Law on Library and other documents on state management …
