The 84th World Library and Information Congress in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
IFLA World Library and Information Congressis an annual event and one of the largest forums of libraries in the world. The IFLA conference is a forum for librarians to meet and exchange experiences in library development. At the same time, the conference is one of the largest forums in the world where libraries will together to set standards, policies and orientations for the development of the library on a global scale.
The IFLA conference is an annual event held annually. Each year a host country will host. In 2018 is the 84th conference and will be held at Petronas Twintower Kuala Lumpur Malaysia International Center from August 24-30, 2018.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Transform Libraries, Transform Societies” with the additional tagline: ‘ Reaching out to the hard to reach’ was chosen in recognition of the critical role played by libraries in the development of a nation particularly in their ability to transform societies. Within the framework of the 2018 conference, there will be 230 conferences, sessions, and discussion sessions on a variety of topics focusing on issues of policy orientation such as the experience of developing policies for libraries each country, the global challenges of the library industry. In addition, the sessions will also have discussions on more in-depth topics on library operations such as experience in organizing and using library software and experience in organizing digital libraries and document preservation, library technology development trends, new technologies have been developed for the library,… All librarians around the world are welcome to attend and comment on IFLA workshops 2018.
Besides the seminar program, IFLA conference is also one of the major exhibitions on technology and library solutions. Participants will visit, access to the latest technologies of the library at the stores of companies and large corporations around the world such as ZEUTSCHEL, OCLC, Mitak, Sirsy Dynix, Innovative … . In it, you can attend and talk with OCLC leaders – a global library cooperative – IDT’s partners present the initiatives, trends and research that will impact to libraries around the world at 13:45 to 15:45 on August 25.
